Thank you for choosing Technology Handyman services! I service customers within a 50 mile radius of Verona, WI where I operate from. I charge a flat $50 service call fee for each visit, which covers the cost of my travel, time and diagnosis. Please note that this fee is in addition to the cost of the jobs performed, which can vary depending on the type and complexity of the work required. For your convenience, I also offer after-hours emergency service for a flat $75 service call fee, for which I'm available until 12am.

I charge an hourly rate of $75/hr. for jobs that may require a more advanced setup and labor-intensive work. The prices listed below are for standard services only. If your job requires any extra work or materials, I will let you know and provide you with a quote before I start any work, so you can choose what’s best for you.

Home Networking

Having a fast and reliable network at home is essential these days. You need it for work, entertainment, education, and more. But setting up and maintaining your network can be a hassle. You don’t want to deal with that! You just want to enjoy your internet and your devices. That’s why I’m here to help. Here are the services I provide:

Wi-Fi Router setup - $75: I will set up your new router and create a secure and personalized Wi-Fi network for you. I will also update the router’s firmware, optimize the settings for the best performance, and test the speed and signal strength of your Wi-Fi network.
Cable Modem Setup - $40: I will install your cable modem, whether you bought it or got it from your ISP and activate your internet service.
Access Points/Repeaters - $50: I will install and configure access points, extenders or repeaters to extend the coverage of your Wi-Fi network. I will also update the AP or repeaters firmware and optimize the settings to match your primary router.
Switches & Hubs - $25: I will install and set up switches or hubs to connect multiple devices to your network.
Connecting Devices - $25: I will connect any device that you want to your network, such as computers, printers, TVs, smart home devices, gaming consoles, etc.

DAW Setup & Configuration

You are a musical genius, and you want to share your talent with the world. But you don’t have a fancy studio or a professional engineer to help you. You have to do everything yourself and that sounds like a lot of work! But don’t worry, I’m here to make your life easier. Here’s how I can assist you:

Audio Interface Setup - $75: I will install and configure your audio interface, connect it to your computer and speakers, and test the sound quality and performance of your recording system.
MIDI Controller Setup - $75: I will install and configure your MIDI controller, connect it to your computer and DAW, and test the functionality and compatibility of your device.
Plugin Installation - $50: I will install and activate any plugins that you want to use in your DAW, such as virtual instruments, effects, or mastering tools.
External Hardware Setup - $100: I will install and connect any external hardware that you want to use in your recording system, such as microphones, preamps, compressors, or monitors.
Audio Software Setup - $75: I will install and configure any audio software that you want to use in your recording system, such as DAWs, editors, converters, or recorders.

This covers the installation, configuration, activation, and testing of the hardware and software for your home recording setup.

Computer Repair

You have smart devices, but they’re not smart. They’re just collecting dust, waiting for someone to free you from the hassle of setting them up and configuring them to give you the smart home you desire. That someone is me! Here are the services I offer:

Smart Devices Include:

TV setup - $75: I will connect your TV to your network, and other devices and ensure it has the latest firmware.
Phone Setup - $50: I will set up your phone with your desired configuration and install any apps you may require.
Tablet Setup - $50: I will set up your tablet with the same features and configuration as your phone.
Thermostats Setup - $100: I will install and configure your smart thermostat in your home. Please Note: Some furnaces may not be compatible with some smart thermostats and may require an HVAC technician and additional equipment.
Lights Setup - $50: I will install and set up your smart lights to create the perfect ambiance for any occasion.
Doorbells Setup - $75: I will install and connect your smart doorbell to your network.
Smoke Detectors Setup - $75: I will install and connect your smart smoke detectors to your network and phone or tablet.
Appliances Setup - $75: I will connect your smart appliances such as refrigerators, ovens, washers, dryers, etc. to your network and install any corresponding apps to your phone. or tablet.

This covers the setup, software upgrades, and integration of the smart devices with your network and other smart home devices.

Software Installation

You want your computer to do amazing things, but you don’t know how to make it happen. You need the right software and drivers, but you don’t have the time or the skills to install and configure them. You wish you had someone who could do it for you. Well, you’re in luck! That’s exactly what I do. Here are the ways I can make your life easier:

Software Installation and Driver Setup - $75: I will install any software or drivers that are required for hardware devices that are connected to your PC. I can also provide recommendations on the best software for your needs and activities.
Operating System Reinstallation or Upgrade - $150: I will reinstall or upgrade your operating system and ensure that all your data and settings are backed up and restored. I perform this service on Windows PC's only.
Software Customization - $75: I will configure or adjust your software settings and features to suit your needs and preferences, such as language, appearance, security, performance, etc.

This service covers installation, configuration, and testing of the software for your computer. Please note: You are responsible for purchasing a valid Windows Installation Product Key if needed. If you already had one active on the computer then Microsoft should remember your device when you reinstall the operating system.

You love your computer, but sometimes it doesn’t love you back. It runs slow, crashes, freezes, or makes weird noises. You don’t have to put up with that! You can make your computer happy again with a hardware upgrade or repair. I can replace or upgrade the following hardware components: Here’s what I can do for you:

Hard Drives - $50: I will install a new hard drive or upgrade your existing one to a faster or larger one.
RAM/Memory - $50: I will install more RAM or upgrade your current RAM to a higher speed or capacity.
CPU’s - $100: I will install a new CPU or upgrade your existing one to a more powerful one.
Motherboards - $150: I will install a new motherboard or replace your existing one with a more compatible or advanced one. Please note: This may require reinstalling the operating system and other software which is an additional service charge. See software section.
Graphics Cards - $75: I will install a new graphics card or upgrade your existing one to a better one.
Power Supplies - $75 I will install a new power supply or upgrade your existing one to a more reliable or sufficient one.
PCI & PCIe Cards - $50: I will install new PCI or PCIe cards to add more functionality or connectivity to your PC.
Cooling Fans - $50: I will install new cooling fans or upgrade your existing ones.

This covers the configuration and testing of the components.

Please note: You are responsible for purchasing the hardware for these replacements or upgrades.

Printer Setup

You have a printer, but it doesn’t print. It’s either not set up, not connected, not working, or out of ink. You don’t have the patience or the know-how to deal with all that. You just want to print your documents and photos without any hassle. That’s why you need me. Here are the solutions I offer:

Printer Setup - $50: I will set up your new printer and connect it to your computer or network. This also includes the installation of the software and drivers that are required for your printer to function properly.
Ink Cartridge Installation - $25: I will install or replace the ink cartridges for your printer and make sure they are aligned and working.
Printer Configuration - $25: I will adjust the printer settings and features to suit your needs and preferences, such as paper size, quality, duplex, etc.
Printer Troubleshooting - $50: I will diagnose and fix any printer problems that you might be experiencing, such as paper jams, error messages, connectivity issues, etc.

Custom PC Builds

You are a PC enthusiast, and you want to have a computer that suits your needs and preferences. You want to have a PC that you can be proud of. But you don’t have the skills or the confidence to build it yourself. You need some help and support from someone like me. I can help you with the following services:

Bios settings configuration - $125: I will adjust your bios settings to match the specifications and features of your PC components, such as CPU, RAM, storage, and graphics card ensuring that your PC runs as smoothly as possible.
Troubleshooting your own build - $125: I will identify and resolve any problems or errors that you may be facing with your own PC build, such as boot failures, blue screens, overheating, or performance issues. I will also provide you with tips and advice on how to prevent or fix them in the future.
Building from components you purchased - $250: I can help you assemble and test your PC from the components that you purchased yourself. We will make sure that all the parts are compatible, properly installed, and securely connected. I'll also install the Windows operating system and latest chipset drivers for your motherboard and components.

Home Theater Setup

You love watching movies, shows, listening to music and gaming. But installing and configuring your home theater system can be tricky and frustrating. You don’t want to deal with wires, settings or any of those pesky configuration screens. You just want to sit back and relax. Here are the options I have for you:

Speaker and Soundbar Setup - $100: I will install and wire your speakers and soundbar to your A/V receiver or TV and adjust the sound settings and levels to optimize your audio quality.
A/V Receiver Setup - $75: I will install and wire your A/V receiver to your TV and other devices and configure the input and output settings to ensure compatibility and performance.
Smart TV Integration - $50: I will install and wire your smart TV to your A/V receiver or other devices and connect it to your Wi-Fi network and streaming services. I will also update the software and adjust the picture settings to enhance your viewing experience.
Other A/V Devices Setup - $25: I will install and wire any other A/V devices that you want to use with your home theater system, such as Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, media players, etc.
